Eve Arnold. USA. Chicago. February 25th 1962. George Lincoln Rockwell, flanked by members of the American Nazi Party, listening to Malcolm X's speech at Black Muslims meeting held at the International Amphitheater.
The lighting is coming from the front and top mostly, but all around realistically. The position and gestures of the models in this photo shows tension and hostility. The background is filled with images of men listening to the speech who are black, which explains the tension shown in the subjects (Nazis). The photo is taken from a head on perspective, and up close. The impact of the photo is representing progress. Showing Nazis in the same room as african americans is a step forward towards equality among humans. There is still a lot of tension in the photo, however, as all parties involved all have different views and opinions.

Double Exposure
This double exposure shows a portrait of myself taking a picture fading above the clouds above a reflective lake.
What images did you select for your double exposure? I selected a picture of a reflective pond in Yosemite National Park and myself thing a picture to overlap.
How do the objects relate compositionally? Both are very organic in nature, and relate because me taking a picture is ironic because a setting that beautiful deserves to be captures visually.
How did you manipulate and modify each image? I grayscale both, and even changed the size of me and faded out the bottom near the trees where the edges of my picture would have been very visible and sharp.
What steps did you take to merge layers to create a unified image? I faded the bottom side of my picture, as it was sharp and had a clearly defined eye that was not appealing.
How do your images relate conceptually? Conceptually, pictures and beautiful landscape are the elements to think about here. Am I taking a picture of a similarly beautiful landscape over the trees?
What concept, idea or meaning does your double exposure convey? The idea of nature's beauty and its desire to be captured visually.

Landscape
This picture was taken above nantucket while onboard a Dassault Falcon connectivity diagnostics flight test. The different colors are magnificently reflected off of the water producing colors such as green, pink, yellow, and blue. The angle of the photo as well as position of the sun were key factors in the production of this amazing photo.
Photo EssayMy photo essay gradually transcends from high warmth photos to cooler divine landscapes.
Written Reflection
The photo essay's subject revolves around the chronological transition of the sky from warm colors to cool colors. I selected the sky because I find the colors extraordinary, and the uniqueness of every different landscape is magnificent. I am trying to portray that the sky transition over time in one evening can be beautiful, and also that I have for love for naturally aspirated nature landscapes. The photos really capture the transition in their warmth and saturation values. Although the colors are changing and every one has different values, one thing that unifies all of the photos is the constant texture in the clouds. |
